When communion tokens were first issued in Scotland, keep in mind that communion was held once maybe twice a year. When Scotland separated from the church of England, they were called The Free Church of Scotland. This is how the Protestant church began. Look how the word "Protestant" is.........protest....ant. On some of the Communion Tokens there is a number. This number is for the table where one is to take seat. In that day, communion lasted for two or three days. I would recommend reading the book "Communion Tokens" by Michael Shutty PHD.

This is a hot button for me. The main thing I think we have done wrong is equate worship with music. I love singing, and I love hymns, but none of the people who came up and worshipped Jesus in the gospels used music. We are not teaching our people that speaking praise is worship, obedience is worship, sacrifice is worship, etc. Thank you for bringing this up and speaking the truth about this. I fear some just worship worship and not God. Take this whole idea of the meaning and expression of worship further guys.

I am planting a church! No one is sending us! A matter of fact namb turned me down years ago! A lot of folks turned us down! So my family have waited for 10 years for a door to open so my wife and I are leading worship together and I preach the word we have a core group of about 25/30 so far! I am a full time hospice chaplain and my wife works also! We are in it to reach the lost not for a job! We love our community because we live in our community!

Today's podcast has been very very encouraging for me. I've not been paid in pastoral ministry since 2019. I was starting a church as NAMB Send Network Church Planting missionary in WV. Since COVID I have pastored the same way online through Facebook Live ACTS Church that at the time was in WV, now in NC. Every Sunday I preach expository sermons without pay. For the past 3 years I've been seeking an established church to pastor in obedience to the Lord. No church seems to be interested in calling me. However, I am willing to pastor without pay. I would be thrilled just to pastor a church in person. I am trusting in God's perfect timing and yes even if it was a replant or revitalization. The bottom line is this calling is not for those who expects certain desires met.

I can confirm anecdotally about the non-denom growth. Our church has grown to need a second service. But we baptized no one last year! As an old SBCer, I'm pushing to get back to a GC emphasis, so going forward, we can see conversion growth.

I think a pressing need is the unceasing amount of false doctrine. There was a staggering amount of people who identify as Christians in the 2020 Ligonier State of the Church survey that don’t even believe in the deity of Christ. A Pew Research Survey a couple years ago found an average of only a third of pastors held a Biblical worldview. This needs to change.

I have been waiting 10 years to plant a church! I went to a lot of agencies including NAMB and we were rejected. Matter of fact no one would even coach me on how to plant! Now 10 years later a door has opened and we are meeting at church on Sunday evenings! I do understand what the pastor is saying you can’t expect to fail! Don’t wait until someone approves your dream, go after it!
